Forensics team brings home a little hardware
The Bethel forensics team is, once again, faced with a dilemma. Where do we put ALL of these trophies?! This weekend proved to be a winning bonanza for the team. The 2 day/ 2 part Valley Forensics Tournament was held this weekend at NDSU and Concordia Moorehead. In a tournament that included over 10 collegiate teams and 70 top speech and debaters, Bethel rose to the top.
Here are some of our successes: Bethel took home a team sweepstakes championship for the second part of the tournament. Matt Sundquist and Jessica Benham came out on top by not only winning parliamentary debate, but Jess was voted the top speaker and Matt took 2nd. Matt also took 4th place in Impromptu speaking both days; Jess was a 1st place winner in Communication Analysis and Matt came in 1st in Extemporaneous Speaking.
Other winners include Heidi Czlapinski who took 5th place in Dramatic Interpretation and Programmed Oral Interpretation. Abby Stocker was a 2nd place winner in After Dinner Speaking. Both Abby and Kyle Arvila made it to the semi-final round in parliamentary debate as well.
Probably the sweetest part of the success is that Jess Benham, who will be finishing up her regular season parliamentary debate career, enjoyed her 11th top speaker award!
yes. There is nothing like the Bethel forensics’ team. Congratulations on a great weekend!!
